Pablo Riquelme
I am a Helsinki based designer, lecturer and service consultant with over fifteen years of experience creating concepts, environments and experiences through design. During the last years I have been focused cooperating and learning about the public sector, I was appointed as “City Designer” for Helsinki during the Design Driven City project (2014-2015). My role has been associated to the promotion of design thinking, the creation of networks around public initiatives and the understanding of the user experience from the very beginning of any development process.

Biography
International Design Foundation (City Designer) 2014–2016
The year 2014 I was choose among two other designers to start a pilot project in the city of Helsinki “Toimiva kaupunki” I worked as a designer developing public services for the city of Helsinki and Espoo, my main project was in partnership with the nuorisoasiainkeskus and we cooperated creating solutions for young homeless people, I also worked with the Helsinki City Library, the creation of the new identity and services for the Helsinki Art Museum (HAM) including others. Big part of my role was also to promote the use of design thinking within city organizations in Finland and abroad.
LUZ Creative Collective (Design Director / Founder) 2013–2015
The year 2013 I created the Luz collective aiming to gather creative people interest to work with public organizations, it was an experimental platform based on creativity and partnership. My main client by that time was the city library and during that year I developed a interior concept for a children bus library and I lead a research on the comparative impact and importance of the library in two different neighbourhoods of the city, Jakomäki and Etelä Haaga.
Innvolve Oy (Design Director / Founder and partner)2011–2012
The year 2011 together with a colleague we started Innvolve Oy, a design agency dedicated to support and develop small and medium size companies working on innovation and technology. I was appointed as design director and my role was to work developing creative concepts to support the business strategies of these organizations.
Kuudes Kerros Oy (Interior architect/ founder and partner)2004–2011
I was founder partner of this design agency) and in the begging my role was purely interior architecture and retail environments. With time my participation was also related with the ideation and conceptualization of solutions for different organizations mostly related to consumer goods and services, such as banking, technology products, commercial environments, etc.
G2 Helsinki (Interior architect) 2000–2003
During my time as student I supported my studies working, by that time advertising offered the best possibilities and I spent few years learning and cooperating on the formation of “design units” within these companies. In G2 my role was as an Interior architect.
